“Cocaine Bear” is the nickname given to a black bear that died of a cocaine overdose in 1985. The bear’s real name was unknown, but it is believed to have been around two years old and weighed around 175 pounds.

The story goes that the bear came across a bag of cocaine that was dropped from a plane by a drug smuggler who was flying over the area. The bear consumed the entire bag of cocaine, which contained over 70 pounds of the drug, and died shortly thereafter.

The incident gained national attention and the bear’s story has since become something of a legend. The bear’s body was preserved and is now on display at the Kentucky for Kentucky Fun Mall in Lexington, Kentucky.

The story of the “Cocaine Bear” has been featured in numerous books, podcasts, and even a movie in development called “Cocaine Bear” directed by Elizabeth Banks.
